It's important when any form of press highlights the issues for game developers in the UK, the fact is it's just an overlooked industry — where other countries like America, Canada and Japan understand that game development is required to help boost the economy — Great Britain, despite promises, recently blocked tax breaks for the UK games industry and has since seen a massive decline in industry specialists, many favouring other countries for higher salaries and lower living costs.
When will the UK government see that tax breaks for the UK games industry make a lot of sense and will ultimately lead to a higher profit of taxation overall?
We used to be one of the best and that's fading away thanks to an old fashioned, scared government.
Games are the new way to be entertained and we can't wait for people to realise what a hot commodity developers are to this country. Richard Wilson of TIGA supports us through thick and thin trying to get game developers the support they require to continue working in the UK.

Too right, sir. With companies like Rockstar North, Codemasters, Rebellion, Lionhead, Creative Assembly and Media Molecule we are one of the most creative, talented and high-earning game developing countries in the world, but the government is totally archaic, bafflingly unwilling to invest in new, extremely profitable mediums. I do feel strongly about this, but have no idea how the government can be persuaded to change. It seems totally illogical and unfair.

Yeah, you're right. I mean they keep talking about triple-a because that's what people know but it would be easy for Johnny Two Shoes to move to another country and get rewarded for our work with lower tax brackets but right now it doesn't suit us. We love London so much.
